Reduxichip
An LPC-based authentication chip that runs the system-side boot support layer. Reduxichip handles authentication responsibilities and FBL layers of the boot process.
The Reduximus Project
The Reduximus Project is a multi-part engineering effort focused on original Xbox hardware, firmware, operating-system orchestration, and user-controlled customization through a layered, security-conscious architecture.
Mission
The Reduximus Project is an inclusive, fully customized reimplementation of the original Xbox platform. The project is divided into multiple facets, with three major systems forming the foundation: Reduxichip, ReduximOS, and Kerduximus.
The goal is not to distribute restricted materials or assist exploitation. The project is built around original code, controlled access, responsible documentation, and a layered design that protects both the user experience and the underlying hardware.
Core Architecture
An LPC-based authentication chip that runs the system-side boot support layer. Reduxichip handles authentication responsibilities and FBL layers of the boot process.
The operating system that directly interacts with the Xbox and acts as a hypervisor-style control layer. ReduximOS is also the user-facing environment for customizing Xbox settings.
It is designed with multiple security layers to protect itself and Microsoft hardware from exploitation. ReduximOS also handles the 2BL layer of the boot process.
A fully customized kernel responsible for hardware direction across the Xbox. Kerduximus is intended to be customizable by the user through ReduximOS.
Future Modules
A full replacement for the Xbox video encoder, designed to support modernized video output and upscaling goals up to 1080i.
An RGB LED device supporting user-customized color schemes, status lighting, and lighting patterns.
A Wi-Fi enabled replacement or modification path for the Xbox Ethernet port. The target is 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 support.
Current Progress
Testing is currently in progress.
Purchase options are expected to become available in Winter 2026.
Testing is expected in Fall 2026, with the goal of being ready by the end of Spring 2027.
